Hello! If you are reading this, welcome! This is the part of my blog I have set up for my custom-written homebrew Warhammer 40'000 Warzone, The Gannach Sector.
My name is Ryan (though I often go by SlimothyJ) and I've been in the Warhammer Hobby since around March 2020. My primary army is the trusty Space Marines, specifically the Black Templars. I live in the UK and, while the pandemic has stopped me getting as many games under my belt as I would perhaps like, I have thankfully been able to get my fix via 'Tabletop Simulator' and a multitude of online communities and discords like 'TTS 40K', 'Bolter and Chainsword', and the 'Implausible Nature' discord channel.
I first became interested in writing The Gannach Sector after seeing some of the fantastic homebrew and self-written lore of the aforementioned communities and the fantastic little details and tropes other people gave their crusades to stand out from the rest. Furthermore, my other hobbies (one of which being tabletop games like 'Dungeons & Dragons' and 'Call of Cthulhu') have given me the practice in storytelling and the comfortability with my writing to write my own personal Crusade, complete with it's own characters, events and stories within the always-loose confines of the Warhammer 40k canon. This has evolved somewhat with the addition of Necron force and plans for future expansions. I plan on establishing an entire written narrative around my favourite factions and armies, especially ones I collect and play in the real world.
Do note: I am not a practiced author, nor am I a professor in Warhammer-ology. As I mentioned, Warhammer's canon is a loose melting pot of toe-treading and downright contradiction and should be taken with a grain of salt, along with everything written here. It's all just toy soldiers after all :)
